HISTORY ,
FAMILY:
HOMETOWN: las vegas, nevada.
OVERALL: mina never had a normal life. her parents had met in vegas, which in itself should tell you that nothing was going to be normal. they were both on trips away from business, and within a few nights, they'd decided that they were in love. they opted to quit their jobs, and stay in vegas, for what little sentimental value it had to them. her father took a job as a chef, though he'd never cooked a thing in his life, and her mother worked as a waitress. they never really had a lot of money, but it was enough to keep them happy. they were happy with each other, and they almost never had eyes for anyone else. of course, mina's mother got angry one night, one of her temper tantrums about giving up a life she loved for one where she made a menial wage. she slept with someone else, and nine months later she gave birth to mina. she told her husband that it was his, and she believed him, but she always felt the guilt of it. about two years later, she gave birth to another child - mina's half brother martin. he was the actual son of her husband, and so it helped her to complete the image of the happy family that she'd always wanted.
mina and martin grew up in a relatively normal childhood - as normal as it can be to grow up in las vegas. their mom took them into work with her when she couldn't find someone to babysit them. the two were adored by their mother's colleagues and always had someone to play with. mina would look after her little brother, and if one of them was getting in trouble, it'd be min, not martin. she taught him to not get himself in trouble, because that was all she knew how to do. she was cocky and intelligent and she knew how to turn it to her side. she was everyone's favorite because of her charismatic attitude, and she grew up as a wonderfully open minded and bubbly child. she was ready to try just about everything, and school was never a problem. she was intelligent enough to pass without a problem, and she had fun growing up. she always remained vigilant about watching her brother, making sure he'd never get into a bit of trouble, while her parents lived in their own little world. that was all fine and good until mina turned thirteen and everything started to go downhill from there. her parents didn't even noticed that their daughter was falling apart.
mina was out with her friends one night when a bunch of boys showed up. of course she flirted with them, and they encouraged her to try drugs. one shot of heroin was all it took, and she was addicted. her personality changed from bubbly to manipulative. she did whatever she wanted - as long as it got her to her next fix. she tried to stick around for her brother, but sneaking out at night became a common occurrence. she constantly told herself that she'd stop next week, tomorrow, next weekend, but it never happened. it got worse and worse and she finally overdosed. no one even noticed. it was pure luck that someone found her in the alley after she'd been unconscious for a few hours. she barely came back to life when she went in with the paramedics. the worst part was that her parents didn't even notice that she'd been gone. no one called them, and they didn't even care. only martin asked her where she'd been, and she couldn't even bring herself to tell him the truth. she didn't want him to stop seeing her as his hero, as he'd told her she was. she wanted to protect him, but she knew she was doing a horrible job. she wanted it to be the reason she could stop shooting up, but not even that was enough of a wake up call.
all her life she'd been sensitive to light, but she hadn't thought anything of it until the angels and demons showed up. she saw them where no one else did, and she was convinced it had to do with her drug habit. she kicked it, hoping that it was all a dream, but even then, she kept seeing them. she considered herself crazy, and she tried to isolate herself as much as possible. it might have worked, until a hoard of demons used her family as hosts. she saw them walking around, but she knew they weren't her family. she went crazy, and ran. she ran as far as she could and then got rides from there to anywhere. she lost track of the time she was running, and finally she passed out. when she woke up, a boy was looking at her, asking if she was alright - he was her saving grace, and he kept her from killing herself. she'd been contemplating it the whole time she'd been running away, and at sixteen, all she wanted to do was end her life. he kept her around, he told her about the angels and the demons, and he made her believe she wasn't crazy. over a year and a half she fell in love with him - head over heels mad for him, but she never showed it. finally he kissed her, and they both knew it was meant to be. a year and a half later, their relationship is stronger than ever, and he's the single light of her life.

RP SAMPLE: nevaeh groaned, swatting the air blindly, trying to locate the source of the irritating buzzing noise. her blue eyes remained closed as she tried to locate the sound, still failing miserably. finally she opened one eye, locating the alarm clock and flicking the switch, the room finally filled with silence. she rubbed her eyes, rolling over to watch the ceiling, listening to the rhythmic sound of her own breathing. she closed her eyes, smiling a little bit until the sound was interupted by the deep snore of someone that wasn't nevaeh. she furrowed her eyebrows, rolling over slightly to see the man next to her. she widened her eyes, pulling the blanket up to cover her naked body, frantically trying to remember what she'd done the night before. she carefully surveyed the man, trying to pick him out of somewhere. he wasn't bad looking - on the contrary, he was quite a good specimen, but nevaeh wasn't a fan of waking up to things she didn't remember. she gingerly poked the side of the sleeping man, only receiving a grunt in response. once more she poked his side, a louder snore released in response. she rolled her eyes, swinging her legs out of bed and onto the floor. she slipped her feet into the slippers that sat haphazardly next to her bed, scrambling for a pair of boxers and a tshirt that had somehow found it's way to the floor in the previous night's proceedings. she wandered over to her bathroom, trying to rub the sleep from her eyes, to bring the world into focus once again. she stumbled into the bathroom, widening her eyes as she looked at the mess in front of her. her blonde hair was in a poofed out mess that resembled a nest. black eyeliner ran down below her eyes, and somehow she'd ended up with a large red hickie on her neck. she groaned, not impressed. when sleeping with guys, she had one rule - no hickies on her neck. everywhere else was okay, but on the neck, no. they were more difficult to hide, and very obvious in her work uniform. she touched it gingerly, biting her lip before sighing. it was there, and it was going to need a lot of cover up to hide it. the problem with working in a restaurant, was that she was in and out of a hot kitchen at any given moment. whatever makeup she had keeping her hickies hidden, sweated off during the time she was at work.
she wandered towards her shower, turning on the hot water, followed by the cold. she stuck her hand under the water flow, leaving it there until she found that it reached the temperature she liked. she closed the door, pulling off what clothing she was wearing, before stepping into the shower. she winced at the heat, but reveled in the way the water washed away the grime from the night before. she worked shampoo through her hair, fingers gingerly pulling the tangles out from her hair, before letting the water rinse the soap away. once that was done, she worked the conditioner through her long blonde locks, letting it sit there while she shaved her legs carefully, followed by every else that needed shaving. once she was done, she covered herself in body wash, rinsing that off followed by the conditioner. she looked up into the stream of water, rubbing her face, washing away the remains of her makeup. finally she felt clean enough to turn off the shower and step out, wrapping her body in the nearest large towel. she paused in front of the mirror, wiping away the steam that gathered on the mirror, glad to see that her hair was under control, and she was now her recognizable self. she twisted her hair, watching the water trip out, before pulling it up into a tight bun. she grabbed her laundry, walking out into her bedroom again, irritated to find the large man still sleeping in her bed. she rolled her eyes, tossing her clothes into the laundry basket in the corner of the room, before heading to her closet. she pulled out when of the many sets of work uniforms she had, closing the closet door with her foot. she wandered over to her drawers, pulling out underwear, a bra and a light undershirt. she walked back into the bathroom to change, slipping into the familiar clothes with ease. she hung the towel over the shower door, wandering back into her bedroom. "hey, hey you." she called out, trying to wake up the man in her room. she rolled her eyes, walking over to him, she climbed onto the bed, using all her weight to push him off of it. the air was filled with a string of obscenities. she stood back, one hand on her hip when she spoke, "you done? your clothes are on the floor, and when i come out of the bathroom in five minutes, you should be out of my house." she turned on her heel and headed back into her bathroom to put on her makeup.
she leaned on the counter in front of her, carefully layering the mascara on her eyelashes, making her eyes seem larger and brighter. she grabbed her foundation, rubbing it into the bags under her eyes, hiding the dark bags, making it look like the skin of the rest of her face. she carefully lined her eyes in black eyeliner, followed by a light brown eyeshadow, covering only her eyelids and nothing more. once she was done, she grabbed her cover up, carefully layering it over the hickey below her jaw, layering it until it blended into her neck perfectly. she put the makeup away carefully before wandering back into her room, carefully surveying the room, making sure her guest had left. she smiled to herself, walking over to her bedroom cupboard, grabbing the bottle of whiskey that sat there unopened. she carefully poured the whiskey into a glass, knocking it black without a problem. anyone who saw her now, would notice the obvious signs of alcoholic behavior. she poured herself a second glass, knocking it back before putting the alcohol away, wandering into the bathroom once more. she brushed her teeth carefully, brushing her tongue to remove all trace smell of the alcohol on her breathe. it took a lot more than two glasses of whiskey, to even make her feel a thing. it just gave her enough oomph, to make it through the day. she was pulling a six hour shift at the restaurant, and the ones where she opened, were the worst. she checked the clock, glad to see that it was only ten forty five. the restaurant didn't open until eleven thirty, and food wouldn't start being served until one. the hour and half in between was for the waitresses to sit up the place, making sure that everything was out on the tables. she wandered over to where her shoes were, grabbing a pair and sliding them onto her feet. blue eyes scanned the room, looking for her big black bag that she carried everywhere with her. she knew her keys and her wallet were inside, and she needed both before she could go to work. finally she found it, wandering into the kitchen to grab her coffee. she poured it into a coffee mug, followed by milk and sugar, screwing on the lid before walking out the door. she was efficient, you had to give her that much.
she walked down out of her apartment, jogging to her car and sliding into it. since she still had her parents money, she enjoyed living a bit lavishly. her shelby mustang was her prized possession, and she loved driving it anywhere and everywhere. she turned on the radio, pulling out onto the main street and driving down to her work. she pulled into the back parking lot, stepping out gracefully and walking into the back room. she smiled her greetings at the other waitresses, grabbing her apron and reaching into the pocket, looking for the recipe she'd stashed in there two days before. on her down time, she often sat in the back room and wrote down things that came to her. she usually remembered to put them in her car, but now she'd lost the last one. she bit her lip, cussing violently, "fuck, shit, fucking shit." she sighed, hoping that someone had just picked it up and shoved it in the trash. she hadn't mentioned to anyone that she wanted to be a chef, and she wanted it to stay that way. she was pretty sure that if any of the main chefs knew ... they'd simply laugh at her. there was an obvious hierarchy to the restaurant. the chefs were at the top, and the waitresses were almost the bottom of the barrel. she shook her head, wrapping the apron around her waist easily, checking for the pen and the pad that was always stored in the front pocket. she paused, pulling her hair out of the loose bun, flipping it over her head and pulling her hair into a tight ponytail. now she was distracted, and she really wished that she had that bottle of whiskey still sitting in her car. she bit her lip, only letting go when she realized that it would start bleeding soon. she put on her smile, walking into the main room to start putting shakers and cutlery on all her tables. she looked up when one of her fellow waitresses told her that carlisle wanted to talk to her. she nodded, still smiling, though inside she was wondering why in god's name, he could need to talk to her. she finished dealing with the table she was at, before walking into the back office, hands tucked behind her back, keeping her eyes up as she walked in and stopped before his desk. "one of the other waitresses said you wanted to see me?" it was strange, to have to deal with carlisle in two different ways. off the clock, he was one of her best friends, but on the clock, he was her boss, and she had to watch everything she said.[/blockquote]
